Computer Requirements for Remote Food Manager Exam

Completing the ServSafe Food Manager course and exam online allows you to work at your own pace from the convenience and comfort of your own home.  There are a few requirements for taking the ServSafe Food Manager exam online. You must have a working webcam/microphone and a private location.  Mobile tablets, iPads, Chromebooks, and phones are not supported. You can test your basic system for compatibility here. Please keep in mind our products are non-refundable.

Registration Process

Once you have completed the registration process here and your payment has been processed, you will receive an email confirmation.  Once we process your order, you will be emailed an access code to take the online class, as well as instructions on how to schedule the exam. Is this required in the state of Ohio?

Yes, the state of Ohio requires At least one employee with supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service shall be a certified food protection manager. See Ohio Food Code Chapter 3701-21-25 (A) In accordance with section 3717.09 of the Revised Code, the director of health shall approve the following categories of food certification courses of study:

(1) Person in charge of certification covering the principles of food safety and the requirements of paragraph (B) of rule 3717-1-02.4 of the Administrative Code. A person in charge certification course approved by the director of health prior to the effective date of this rule shall maintain its approval until a new course is submitted to the director of health no later than nine months after the effective date of this rule and approved or disapproved by the director of health no later than twelve months after the effective date of this rule. If a new course is not submitted and approved within twelve months of the effective date of this rule, the course will no longer be approved.

(2) Manager certification in food protection.
